I came accross this video on the YUI blog last week. I watched it over the weekend and found it fairly interesting. If you guys are looking for something to watch, other then reality Tee Vee, you might want to check it out.

He talks about things like the "Software Crisis" and how it never went away, the "mythical man month", software process that do and don't work, coding standards, etc. One idea he mentioned, that I thought was a good idea, was that in every seventh sprint, no new features should be added. Instead, we just use that sprint to fix the messes we made in the last six sprints.

Another notable thing he talked about was a group of software technics that try to fix the problems with software development. He labels these things as "Snake Oil." Later on, he says that agile development is one snake oil idea that actually works.
